Planning at home maternity photos in New Jersey.
Why at home maternity photos?
Why wouldn’t you want at home maternity photos? Where else do you feel as comfortable and at ease as you do at home? These are the spaces where your memories are being made, where you spend the most time together, and where your new baby will come home to. The nursery is being lovingly prepared and the home is ready to welcome brand new life.
What to do during your in home photo session
Your at home pregnancy session in New Jersey can be anything you want it to be! Hanging out together on the couch, in the bedroom, baby’s nursery, the kitchen, prepping baby’s clothes and even putting together the crib with each other.
Steph and Jeffrey chose to incorporate some of their favorite things to do together. Baking a favorite cake in the kitchen, snuggling in the living room and nursery and PIZZA!
What to wear for your at home pregnancy photos
Steph was dreaming of an elevated pregnancy look along with a really casual and intimate vibe too. I loved it so much! You can make the session anything that feels like you. Light and flowy dresses, casual maternity jeans and a tank or sweater top, some lingerie and a lace robe, or a Calvin Klein underwear set like Steph opted for are all welcome! You should feel like you!
What to expect
As with any maternity session, most of the focus will be on the baby bump. Lots of snuggling, and laughter! I will come to your home and look for the best lighting first in the rooms that you would like to use, and make a plan from there. I will probably have you all over the house, finding beautiful little pockets of light to have you snuggle, dance, and just be together in.
How to prepare for at home maternity photos.
- Consider having your hair makeup and nails done for your session. If you feel like a million bucks it will show in the photos for sure!
- Make sure to have your wardrobe options picked out and tried on beforehand. it’s helpful to have a couple extras just in case.
- Tidy up the spaces we will be using. No they don’t need to be sterilized, and you don’t need to go crazy! Make sure side tables are clear of clutter, and things that you wouldn’t want in the photos are hidden out of sight. If I see something that could be moved to make a better photo, I’m not shy about going ahead and doing that!
- relax! These are fun and casual type photos! I will give you both lots of direction and ideas of what to do together. You will have a great time, promise!
