The wedding countdown is ON for these two who are tying the knot this weekend at The Club at Picatinny!! To celebrate their upcoming wedding I’m sharing more of their love story in their own word and images from their fall engagement session at the Skylands Manor.

HOW THEY MET

“Mike and I met when working together at Shoprite. I was in high school and Mike was in college. We became good friends for years before it became romantic. So not only is he my soulmate, but my best friend! I feel so lucky that we were able to become friends first because it gave us a chance to be ourselves and really get to know each other with no pressure.

We started dating when I was twenty years old and Mike was twenty-eight. He made the first move, which caught me by surprise since we were just friends for so many years. I’m so happy and lucky that he did because little did I know he was exactly what I wanted in a partner and didn’t even realize he was right in front of me the whole time!! Two years ago we moved into a condo with our two cats, Maisy and Holly, and our Siberian Husky named Sadie. This November will be five happy years that we have been together.

THEIR PROPOSAL STORY

It was a complete suprise!! Prior to the engagement I knew one day we were going to get married and we discussed waiting until after I finished the Radiography program for school. He proposed way before I expected it to happen! It couldn’t have been more perfect for the surprise.

While I was on winter break from school, we were getting ready to go over my moms house for dinner. I came out of the shower and heard a romantic song playing from the living room. The bathroom door opened and Sadie came walking in a wearing a white t-shirt that had glitter vinyl lettering that said “Will you marry my dad?” In came Mike saying the most beautiful words to me and tears came streaming down!!

He gave me the most beautiful ring. The diamond was given to him by his grandma, which means the world to me! After the proposal, I got ready and headed to our parents house to share the good news since we were headed there anyway. He later told me that he was originally going to wait until after I finished school like we planned, but once he had the ring in his possession, he couldn’t wait to ask me! I felt extra special and loved the authenticity of it. It truly was a magical, intimate moment, that I will cherish forever.

THEIR PERFECT DATE NIGHT

Mike and Meg love to go to Joe’s Crab Shack and splurge when we got the chance. On Saturdays, Meg works during the day, then they go to Mike’s parents house for dinner and my parents house on either Friday or Sunday night for dinner. They are so busy during the week so they catch up on some family time every weekend.

We had so much fun together during their Skylands Manor engagement session! I am so excited to see these two get married this weekend!! It’s going to be the most beautiful day so full of love and I’m sure lots of laughter!!
