Margo and her mom Michelle came into my Sussex County NJ photo studio, located in The Shoppes at Lafayette in Lafayette NJ. The space is light and bright with tons of room to spread out and be comfortable during your Maternity, Family, Newborn or Milestone photo session and even a cake smash if you’d like!

Margo turned one just the week after these images which is perfect timing to get that session in! Babies grow so quickly, so catching the milestones before they’re moving right onto the next ones is amazing. Miss Margo was still crawling, and pulling up on things, though not yet walking which makes for the most adorable photos and makes it a bit easier to capture her first birthday photographs while she’s not running away!

Their Session: First Birthday motherhood session

Initially, mom had reached out about just a birthday cake smash for her sweet baby girl’s boho themed first birthday party, but decided that instead she would love to get in the photos with her little girl for some motherhood images! Such a great choice! I always encourage moms to get into the photos especially as we’re always the ones behind the cameras! Moms are ALWAYS welcome to join in on sessions, no matter what!

Towards the end of the session little Margo was getting hungry, so we did some beautiful breastfeeding photos. These are so special and absolutely something that I welcome completely during sessions. Your nursing journey can be so rewarding, difficult, and fleeting, capture the memory and celebrate what your body can do for your child. What a great accomplishment to make it to the one year mark! That’s for sure something we were celebrating at their session.
