I’m not sure that there is a prettier place in all of New Jersey for Spring mom and me pictures! Especially for Spring mom and me photos with all girls! … and a bonus Grandma and Grandpa! Jeanette told me she always wanted to have pictures with her daughters done at the gardens, so this was the year to make it happen! She even brought along her parents to get three generation pictures! ALWAYS a great idea in my book!

I met this lovely bunch on a brisk spring morning just as the gardens opened. Which in my opinion is the BEST time to go to avoid all the afternoon crowds! This place is ridiculously beautiful, which also makes it ridiculously popular for spring family pictures in the cherry blossoms and spring flowers. We spent our time together strolling through the grounds, playing games, and being silly! The NJBG at Skylands Botanical Gardens are the perfect spot for Spring Mom and Me pictures!

A few tips for planning your spring photos in the cherry blossoms:

Be flexible with timing and locations! – all Cherry trees in New Jersey don’t bloom at the same time! Nor do they bloom the same time one year to the next. Keep an eye out and watch for the best spots then go to them!

Be ready for crowds – Pictures in the Cherry trees are always very popular! With the number of people wanting photos in them you’re better off choosing EARLY morning sessions or even weekdays!

Wear soft colors – The blossoms add a very pastel color to the photos. Be sure to either wear neutrals or soft tones of pastels and neutrals to go with the scene.
