• It’s no secret that Mom is usually the one picking out outfits for herself and the kids. It’s also not a secret that Mom is the most difficult person in the family to pick an outfit for! We as moms want to look great, feel comfortable, and love our outfits! So whenever I’m styling a family our a mom and her children I always start with Mom.

• think of spring colors! Soft pinks, blues, sage greens, and of course whites, and neutrals!

• Wear the dress. I’m partial to a great maxi or midi dress. They’re comfortable, flattering, and step up the look just a bit from your everyday wear.

• Pick a color scheme from mom’s outfit. Or choose two to three colors to mix and match throughout.

• Avoid bright colors, they simply do not photograph well. Instead opt for soft pastels and neutrals.
• Pick classic pieces for the kids. Avoid anything too trendy or too fancy. Simple comfotable options work best for children.
• Try the outfits on! I can’t stress this enough, some items don’t fit quite right or like they should. It’s helpful to know that before you show up to your photoshoot for spring pictures.
