What to expect during your fall family photos in Sussex County NJ.

If you’re new around here, you may be wondering what to expect during family photos with Renee Ash Photography. Most clients who have just found me have either never had professional photos done, or have worked with another photographer.

Those that have never had photos done a photo session before may be a bit nervous and stressed about what to wear, how the kids will behave, and how the session will run. Even those who have had family photo sessions before, but with another photographer might know a bit more about what to expect, but every photographer runs their sessions differently.

What to expect from your outdoor photos with Ashley

Everyone is having so much fun and looking natural.

When you came across my family session portfolio or one of my social media pages, you probably would have noticed that my photos tend to look candid, natural and fun. It’s true, every session I walk into i have those goals in mind. But, it’s important to keep in mind that no two families are the same. Each one brings their own set of personalities, and their own vibe and style. Some are serious and calm, Some have crazy high energy, and others have toddlers who decide at the drop of a hat that they’re not interested in ANYTHING you want them to do.

Don’t compare your family and your images with your friends or neighbors. Whatever your family brings, I am here for it, for you, and will do my very best to work with whatever your kids and family throws my way to ensure you receive images that are uniquely you and yours in your gallery. Whether that’s full of laughter, or full of love and serious looks.

I Plan to make your session look and feel like you.

With that said, there are similarities that can be seen from session to session regardless of the family in front of my lens.

• You will have beautiful lighting. I plan all of my sessions around Sunrise or Sunset to ensure that the best possible light is available for your session. Even in overcast skies.
• I will attempt to get the “classic family shot” with everyone looking at the camera. This is kid dependent, and can go anyway.
• The majority of your images will not have everyone or even anyone looking at the camera. My focus is on connections within your family, and not with me and my lens.
• You will have images with many combinations of everyone in your family.
• I will 1000% make you snuggle, love on one another, and get cozy.
• I will make parents take a just parents photo. I am known to hold babies on my hip as I photograph just the two of you, where it all started.

The best thing you can do is to go with the flow.

Let go of the vision of perfection that you have in your head, and have seen all over your Pinterest pages. i promise that if you just let go, be present, and have fun with your family you will absolutely adore the images.

This means that maybe your super serious and curious baby doesn’t smile in ANY of your images. Or that your toddler never stops running, with you not far behind. But that’s ok! The images will be a reflection of your life as it is now, and how it was when you’re driving them off to college and wondering where that spunky energetic little toddler went?!

While I love what I do, It’s not for everyone. We may not be a good fit if these are true.

• You would like formal photos, and not planning to run jump and play with the kids
• You would be upset if your kids got a little dirty during our session
• You’re looking for sitting pretty and smiling at the camera photos
• Showing affection is uncomfortable for you.
