New Jersey has no shortage of sunflower farms, fields, and attractions! Check these top notch popular ones and some of the best hidden gems too! All of them usually allow for photography but do require entrance fees for all involved and to utilize the property during regular business hours.

The Sussex County Sunflower Maze – LIBERTY FARM 101 ROUTE 645 SANDYSTON, NJ 07826

• Our Sunflowers usually bloom mid August thru mid September
• Admission is usually about $10-15 per person to enter the maze
• Professional Photo Shoots We allow professional Photographers and their clients during normal buisness hours. Everyone pays daily admission). RSVP Required. We ask that you don’t block the maze or interfer with others enjoyment. There are plenty of private spots and great locations. Field conditions can change daily.

Alsteade Farms – Chester NJ

• Offering “You Pick” fields of berries, apples, and more! A trip on a hayride out to the fields is included in the You Pick admission. Sunflowers are located on the way out to the fields and can be visited with any you pick ticket.
• Fun farm experience for the kids with a wagon ride, you pick fields and farm animals to pet and feed!

When do the Sunflower fields Bloom in NJ?

Depending on the field and the planting schedules this can vary widely. Weather and the type of year rain and warmth wise can also affect the bloom schedule. Be flexible in scheduling your sunflower family pictures for around late August to mid September in Northwest NJ.

What Should we wear for our Sunflower Family Pictures?

Dress to compliment the scene! Colors that work well with yellow and green will always look best in sunflower farm photos as most of the landscape will be yellow and green! Think of the color wheel and complimentary colors. Across from yellows and greens are blues purples and reds. Mix and match coordinating colors within everyone’s outfits and you will be *golden*.

Color schemes – blue and white | ivory, cream, tan and burgundy or brown earth tones, Yellow or mustard and blue or white will always look great!

When to Schedule our Sunflower Photo Shoot?

Sunflower sessions are scheduled as individual private sessions due to the admission and limited hours of optimal lighting each day. Sunflower sessions are best done the hour before sunset to ensure that golden glow and beautiful soft light over the flowers. Any NJ Family photo session booked with Renee Ash Photography from the end of August to mid September while the flowers are in bloom can request to meet at the sunflower field!
